A good introduction to theory of mind

I read The Place of Mind for a university philsophy course. I found the book to be a good introduction to various theories of mind. The articles cover a number of areas, including Dualism, materialism, subjectivity and AI. I recommend the book to anyone who is looking for a good overview of theory of mind.

I have a masters in Philosophy, through my education I read this book. I have since returned to it on several occasions for pleasure reading. This book contains some excellent ground level and mid level reading materials on a variety of identity theory, skepticism, epiphenomenal etc... topics.

Reading is good, however typical Kindergarteners cannot usually read this much ...

These are not worksheets the average kindergartener in public school can do by themselves. Especially in the beginning of the year. There are multiple problems on each page with different directions to follow for each one. They need to read quite a bit to solve the problem. Reading is good, however typical Kindergarteners cannot usually read this much within the first semester of school. If I was to pass this out, I would have to read each one aloud and we would have to go together or they would be coming up to me for every problem. This seems more like first grade to me. I sent it back.

Great for teachers and homeschoolers! !

I use these books for homeschooling to start off each of the required 180 days. It helps me to keep track of how many days we have done and it allows me to see what we have done in math each day. Each page has different types of problems, so the kids don't get bored. They are truly grade appropriate work. The additional CD is nice, so you can print out pages again and have a file on hand. These would be truly great for "morning work" activities for teachers.
Would definitely buy these each year. I just with they made them for spelling, language arts science. etc.

Bought for my daughter - she loves doing the exercises, something I've had problems with in other activity books. Each page has a pattern of 6 activities that are consistent in their theme from page to page. Some are easy for her, but some are getting more challenging (which is good). Highly recommend.

Poorly Updated

This is a required text for a class I am taking, but I have found it to be a poorly updated 9th Edition of a book. The first chapter gives such basic information about email, computers and the internet, that you would think the internet was just invented. Shame on the author and publishers for selling a book originally published in 1993 with very little work put in to making it relevant and current in its 9th Edition. For any aspiring or out of work authors, perhaps here is an opportunity to write your own book with a little more effort, which can be much more useful for today.

Beware - does not work!

This access card never worked and I had to return it for a refund. From working with both Amazon and the text's company, I was finally told that I should be wary of purchasing access cards from third-parties. Apparently the version this was is not an official publication from the publisher, so they could never get it to work. So - beware if you purchase this!

Nossa, tenho tanto a dizer desse livro: engraçado, interessante, misterioso, incrível...Eu devendo uma recomendação a muuuito tempo, mas chegou a hora H. O que eu posso falar? Da autora, Marcela, minha professora, que tem uma escrita tão boa que prende o leitor e faz ele querer ler cada vez mais; de sua persistência em escrever esse livro, do orgulho que sinto por ela ter seguido seu sonho; dos personagens, em como me apaixonei (ou odiei) cada um deles, descrevê-los-mas não farei isso pois quero que você imagine cada um deles da maneira que eu fiz; dos capítulos, da história, o que eu senti, como eu reagi, poderia citar minhas partes favoritas, mas não consigo, pois adorei o livro todo. Já conversei, perguntei, insisti em saber mais com a autora, mas, mesmo ela dando pequenos spoilers, ela me deixou mais curiosa do que já estava!
